The J95 has a host of advanced features allowing you to program custom drinks to you exact preferences. This Swiss-made machine is equipped with a 15 bar high-performance pump and stainless steel thermoblock heating system. A Variable Brewing Unit lets you prepare your drinks with anywhere from 5-16 grams of coffee and the Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System pre-infuses the grounds for richer espresso extraction. The amount of water used per beverage, coffee strength (5 settings), brewing temperature (2 settings) and hot water temperature (3 settings) are all customizable to your liking. Once a beverage selection has been made, the J95 will grind, tamp, and brew your coffee or espresso and froth milk for any specialty drinks. Both the coffee and milk spouts are height adjustable to accommodate cups between 2.6 - 4.4 inches (coffee) and 4.3 - 6 inches (milk) respectively. Both spouts can be set to illuminate your cups with white or amber light while brewing.

This bean-to-cup machine features an ample 73.5oz removable water reservoir. To ensure that beverages taste their best, the J95 can be fitted with a Clearyl Blue water filter that removes minerals from tap water for great tasting drinks and guards against scale buildup. An adjustable water hardness feature is also available for users who choose not to brew with filtered water.
+

+
The J95 has three temperature settings—low, normal and high—to let you control the hot water dispenser. Turn the temperature setting to low, if you’re dispensing water to make hot chocolate for the kids, or set it on high if you prefer ultra-hot tea.

The J95 utilizes Jura's Aroma+ Grinder, allowing it to grind more quietly and in half the time thanks to the perfected cutting angle of the burrs. The bean hopper features an aroma-preserving lid to let you safely store up to 8.8-ounces of whole bean coffee. The machine is also equipped with a bypass doser which allows you to fill the brew group directly with pre-ground coffee. The bypass doser is an excellent option when you need to decaf coffee for guests or in the evening.

Committed to energy efficiency, Jura designed the J95 with an energy save function and a Zero-Energy Switch. When in Energy Save Mode (E.S.M) the machine is actually completely disconnected from the mains power supply to consume <0.1W. This feature will help you cut down on energy costs as well as minimize the machine’s impact on the environment.

The J95 has integrated rinsing, cleaning and descaling programs and can be programmed with your water hardness for more accurate maintenance feedback. This aesthetically pleasing one-touch machine boasts a never before seen hand-finished carbon front panel, intuitive rotary dial controls and a full color TFT display. It measures 13.5”H x 12.5”W x17” D and weighs only 24 pounds.

Cleaning Coffee System
+

+
The coffee brewing system can be rinsed at any time through the maintenance menu of the machine. This does not need to be done on a particular schedule, because the machine should automatically prompt you when to complete the cleaning cycle. It is, however, necessary to run the cycle when the machine prompts you and should not be neglected. If this maintenance cycle is neglected unpleasant flavors can develop in the brewed drinks. The recommended cleaning product for this cycle is Jura-Capresso 2-Phase Cleaning Tablets.
+

+
Rinsing Milk System
+

+
A rinse of the milk system should be completed any day that the machine is used to make a milk based drink. The dual spout milk dispensing system must be cleaned regularly with Jura Milk System Cleaner in order to maintain proper function. Depending on how the machine is programmed, the machine may not automatically prompt you to complete this cycle.
+

+
Milk Spout Cleaning
+

+
The milk spout assembly must be taken apart for cleaning any day that the machine was used to make milk based drinks to maintain machine function and keep the parts sanitary. The disassembly and cleaning instructions for this spout can be found on p. 34.
+

+
Changing Water Filter
+

+
This machine uses a Clearyl Blue water filter. The filter should be changed every 60 liters of water or every three months, whichever comes first. Instructions for activating and installing this filter can be found on pp.35-36 of the machine manual. Use of this filter means that you do not have to descale the machine.
+

+
Descaling
+

+
The machine will automatically prompt you to descale. Descaling is not required if the Clearyl Smart filter is installed in the machine. The only descaling product that should be used is Jura-Capresso Descaling Tablets. The frequency of descaling will depend on the hardness of the water in the machine. Instructions for descaling the machine can be found on pp.38-40 of the machine manual.

Flow Issues
+
Milk Flows Poorly/Spits
+

+
If the milk spout is flowing incorrectly or milk is spraying out then the milk spout is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Run a milk circuit cleaning cycle and disassemble the spout for cleaning.
+

+
Little No Water/Steam From Frother
+

+
If very little water or steam is coming from the frothing wand, then the connector may be blocked by milk residues or scale buildup.
+
#Gently remove the cappuccino frother from the wand.
+
#Unscrew the black connector with the hexagonal hole on the measuring scoop that came with the machine.
+
#Clean the connector.
+
#Reattach the connector and screw it on by hand, and then gently tighten it with the scoop tool. Do not tighten it more than a quarter turn after getting the connector on hand tight or it may damage the part.
+

+
Poor Coffee Flow
+

+
There are a couple of different reasons the coffee could be flowing slowly.
+

+
#The coffee grind is set too fine, and the fine coffee particles are blocking the flow of water. Try adjusting the grind to a coarser setting.
+
#The Clearyl filter is blocking the flow of water, and may be due for replacement.
+
#There is scale buildup in the system and the machine should be descaled.
+

+
Empty Drip Tray Won't Clear
+

+
If the "Empty drip tray" error will not clear then the metal contacts on the drip tray are dirty or wet. Wipe the contacts off and dry them thoroughly before reinserting the tray into the machine.
+

+
Grinder Issues
+

+
If the machine is not recognizing that the bean hoppers are empty, or if the machine gives a "Fill bean container" error even though the hoppers are full then the grinding mechanism needs to be cleaned. Instructions for cleaning the grinding mechanism can be found on p. 40 of the machine manual.
+

+
Error 2/Error 5
+

+
The machine was exposed to cold or freezing conditions, and the machine will not operate until the machine has reached room temperature.

Install It

 1. Find a swanky spot in your home for your new machine to live, preferably where the morning sun shine down on your new, personal barista.
 2. Get the power cord and the accessories out of the box.
 3. Plug the machine directly into an outlet. Don't plug it into surge protectors, extension cords, or timers.
 4. Fill the water tank.

Educate Yourself

There are a few things you should know before heating up your super-auto for the first time to keep the the espresso flowing and the milk frothing. In the video on the right, you'll learn all about recommended roasts, water hardness, grind settings, milk frothing and the brew group—or, as we like to think of it, your super-auto's inner barista.

5 Things New Super Automatic Espresso Machine Owners Should Know

Get the Right Beans

Coffee is all about the caffeine (er... flavor), and super-autos don't disappoint, though, they are a teensy bit picky when it comes to certain roasts. In particular, super-autos are oily-bean-averse, meaning they don't like extra dark or flavored beans, as they tend to gunk up the grinder. Watch the video on the right to learn how to choose the beans of your dreams and keep your grinder clean.

How To: Coffee Bean Selection and Grind Settings for Bean to Cup Machines

Find the Right Grind

Consistency is key when it comes to grind size. With super-autos, you can just set it and forget it, but it's good to know how to fine tune for your favorite roasts. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind: light roasts and small volumes such as in espresso need a finer grind, while dark roasts and long coffees favor a coarser grind. Watch the video on the right to learn more.
